The Jordan Esports Federation hosted a two-day meeting on December 19 and 20, 2024, in Amman, Jordan, bringing together 24 national esports representatives from across Asia to discuss ways to advance esports in the region and review the governance of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF).
During the meeting, HRH Prince Omar bin Faisal, President of the Jordan Esports Federation, highlighted the ongoing efforts with the OCA and other sports organizations to develop esports in Asia and called for reforms within the AESF.
The Asian representatives present at the meeting decided to give the AESF a final opportunity until the end of January 2025 to revise its constitution in a manner acceptable to its members and to hold democratic elections.
Attendees expressed dissatisfaction with the current AESF statutes, criticizing it for its lack of transparency, democratic principles, and proper governance.
Furthermore, the attendees authorized HRH Prince Omar bin Faisal to continue discussions with the AESF, the OCA, and other relevant organizations to advocate for reforms in the AESF statutes.
The meeting concluded with a call for all Asian federations, associations, and stakeholders to join forces in reforming and promoting the development of esports across Asia.
